Changanachery
known as “Anchuvilakkinte nadu” is situated 18km south of kottayam
district in kerala. It is spread across 13.5sqkm.It is a municipality which has
one of the largest market established by renowned freedom fighter Veeluthambi dhalava.He built the stone
lamp post known as anchuvilakku near the boat jetty which implies to the unity of
various communities living in prosperity and communal harmony.The city is
located in the neighborhood of kuttanad which is known as ’The Rice bowl of
Kerala’ and high range regions.
Chandanakkudam
is famous since it is celebrated together by Christian-Hindu-Muslim
representing their unity and integrity.

Geography and Climate:
Changanacherry
is located 7.1 m above mean sea level.City has midland areas as well as lowland
areas comprising of kuttanadu with alluvial soil.It has no coastal area.It has
got a tropical climate.
